Posted in Blogosphere on August 28, 2006 by Shane Williamson

Podcastingtricks.com has some great pointers for the new apprentice or master Podcaster. The Blog is regularly updated and has reviews on Podcasting equipment, software and most importantly technique.

This would be a great training tool for those of you wanting to get that special show started and then hosted on the Podcastnetwork!

The Graphical Blogosphere

Posted in Blogosphere on June 28, 2006 by Shane Williamson
Matthew Hurst’s Blog called "Data Mining" has some interesting graphs showing part of the visual Blogosphere.

It’s an interesting start on getting some graphical representation on how the Blogosphere’s information and permalinks allow information to be filtered and disseminated throughout the Internet so effectively.

UPDATE 30-JUN-06: Matthew has just let me know via comments that the data is not just LiveJournal, but a greater part of the Blogosphere making it even more relevant! I have corrected my entry accordingly.

Technorati’s – State of the ‘Sphere

Posted in Blogosphere on April 20, 2006 by Shane Williamson
David Sifry’s Alerts blog has an update from Technorati’s logs showing the Blogosphere is growing both in size and power of reach.

Sifry’s summary states:
  • Technorati now tracks over 35.3 Million blogs
  • The blogosphere is doubling in size every 6 months
  • It is now over 60 times bigger than it was 3 years ago
  • On average, a new weblog is created every second of every day
  • 19.4 million bloggers (55%) are still posting 3 months after their blogs are created
  • Technorati tracks about 1.2 Million new blog posts each day, about 50,000 per hour

I’ve hilighted the important fact that addresses the criticism that is still being put forward by those that still hold on to the belief that it is just a fad.

Posted in Blogosphere on April 18, 2006 by Shane Williamson
Stumbled on Webosphere today that showcases various Web 2.0 sites…….

From the site:
Webosphere is a  new blog focused on detecting and reviewing new web 2.0 products and companies, latest news on RSS technology and Internet.
One of the sites it links to is ZoomClouds that allow you to tailor make your own Tag clouds and add them to your site. Very cool stuff.

Blog Intro: S60 User Experience Blog

Posted in Blogosphere on April 3, 2006 by Shane Williamson
Blog Name:  S60 User Experience
Blog Type:  Multi-Blogger - Part of the S60 group of Blogs
Tags:  symbian, series60, S60, mobile

The S60 User Experience Blog is a great edition to the S60 Blog site. As I’ve recently purchased the Nokia N90, which is a S60 system, I have been trawling the Blogosphere for informative sites such as this.

S60 User Experience is aimed at the developer community, but it’s Blogging style is technically pitched high enough that the average technologist can gain a lot from it. Most of the Bloggers on it are from Nokia, but the site is not restricted just to Nokia devices.

Some of the recent articles on the site are addressing most of the core issues around usability such as, the user interface, user centric design and even cultural usability factors.

Worth syndicating if you or your company develops for S60 devices or interested in one of the key aspects .

AustralianBlogs.com.au

I got a comment on an earlier post of my Blog that states there is a community site setup for Australian Bloggers over here at http://www.australianblogs.com.au/

From their site:
WHAT IS IT?
AustralianBlogs.com.au is a free community resource to bookmark your favourite Australian blogs. Similar to del.icio.us (but less invasive – we don’t need you to register or login), you can add your bookmarks or just browse to see what’s popular.
WHY?
It is a place where Australian Bloggers can showcase their work, and the blog-reading public can find interesting, relevant and popular Australian blogs.
AustralianBlogs is a good place to scan through just a few of the many Australian Bloggers that are listed there or use their tag search to go to specific Blogger topics.

Better still, if you are an Australian Blogger, get yourself listed and tagged!

Blog Shopping 2

Posted in Blogosphere on March 6, 2006 by Shane Williamson
David Koretz of Bluetie has Blogged about the new Gilette Fusion razor. As I know and trust David, his recommendation of a product is superior information to any old world media source.

Which brings about a whole new way to purchase via recommendations from trusted sources, which is "Blog Shopping".

Blog Shopping

I’m vary wary of Blogs that use commission links to point to products they supposedly "recommend". I’ve been syndicated to Kevin Kelly’s Cool Tools (a community Blog) for a couple of months now and I was very suspicious early on, but damn if these guys don’t show some very cool stuff!

Recently Kevin has had me drooling over some tools people have recommend on his Blog that I haven’t been able to track down locally and I’m green with envy over.

Like this guy! yeah you may think "WTF!?!?!" but I needed this bloody thing for a project at home on the weekend :-)

I await riveted to my Bloglines feeds for the next new toy that I must smuggle past the financial controller.

Australian Blogosphere banter continues…

Posted in Blogosphere on March 1, 2006 by Shane Williamson
Charles Wright’s blog, Bleeding Edge has some more on the current Australian Blogger A-list debate. The comments on the Blog are great as there are a lot of discussions about what should be listed and what shouldn’t.

These open conversations are starting to unveil some other interesting Australian Blogs that are new to my eyes such as,

Australian Bloggers bruised over bloodied Blogosphere banter

Posted in Blogosphere on February 27, 2006 by Shane Williamson
Frank Arrigo’s humble request to the Australian Blogosphere for a list of "A-List Bloggers" but who is also ostracising journalist Bloggers, has put fire in the belly of Mark Jones, who is the IT Editor of the Australian Financial Review.

Lines have been drawn in the sand and Jones has requested his own vote on a list that is black listing Blogger Vendors such as Franky.

Could this divide cause Aussie Blogosphere chaos!?!? Who can tell at this early stage, but my vote’s on Jones as he’s got me listed

This is Cluetrain at it’s best people, so join in on the conversation and have your say.
