Visualisation concept for social networks
November 17, 2005
I’m a visual animal, so I like to watch not read the event unfolding before me. So I tend to be distracted by bright moving lights a lot……. but I digress
Steven Blyth is an "interaction designer" who is "interested in designing solutions that resonate and connect with people on an emotional level".
Steven’s website is a fun playground to visit as he discusses some of his projects in great detail.
Steven’s concept of the Social Fabric is intriguing as it addresses the age old issue of keeping up acquaintances with friends and family. The visual interface he has proposed shows avatars of these relationship entities and depending on the amount of digital interaction, voice calls, SMS or e-mails shows a virtual status of the relationship.
Avatars use body posture to visualise the status of that relationship. Take a look at the demo videos on his site that articulate very well how these may be used.
If this was a real product today I’d buy it 🙂
