Buying a new Gamer PC System – Part 1

April 15, 2005

Well my ol trusty, self built, AMD 2Ghz/512Mb RAM system needs a make over, as I am unable to play some of the latest and greatest the way they were designed too.

So this time I’m going alien technology all the way!

Just placed an order over at the newly established Australian Alienware troop for the following:

  • Alienware Full-Tower Case – Martian red
  • AMD Athlon™ 64 FX-55 Processor
  • A8N-SLI Deluxe PCI-E Motherboard
  • 2Gb Dual Channel PC- 3200 DDR400 Low Latency – 4 x 512Mb
  • 510W PC Power supply & Cooling 510 Express
  • NVIDIA® GeForce™ GF6800 Ultra 256MB PCI-Express SLI
  • Serial ATA RAID 0 – 500GB (250GB x 2) Hitachi Deskstar 7,200RPM w/16MB Cache
  • Sony® 16x Dual Layer DVD±R/W Recorder with NeroDVD
  • Microsoft Windows XP Pro
  • Alienware Cable Management System
  • AlienIce™ Video Cooling System – Fusion Red
  • 3.5" 1.44 MB Floppy Disk Drive – Black
  • Microsoft® Multimedia Keyboard – Martian red
  • Microsoft® IntelliMouse Explorer 4.0 – USB – Martian red
  • "ZALMAN" 6-channel Real Surround Sound Headphones, separate front, rear, and center channel speakers + microphone
  • AlienAdrenaline: Video Performance Optimizer
  • 2-Year AlienCare Warranty Return To Base + Toll-Free Phone Support

I’m also sourcing a widescreen 23" or greater LCD monitor too. So stay tuned to hear further details….
